Bruce Gruber, 73, of Lincroft, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 24, 2013 after a courageous 10 month fight with lung cancer. He was born on January 23, 1940 in Elizabeth, where he grew up. Bruce lived in Heights town, and spent the last 6 years of his life at Luftmann Towers in Lincroft. He cared so much for his friends at the Luftmann Towers and they cared about him greatly. He took an active interest in all of the happenings at Luftmann Towers. Bruce was also an active member and a deacon of the First Presbyterian Church at Shrewsbury.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ingram and Ruth (Eickstedt) Gruber and his beloved niece, Beverly Bamundo. Bruce is survived by his dear sister and best friend, Doris Bardsley of Middletown; his brother, Wayne Gruber and his wife Rita and family from Little Rock, AR, whom he treasured; his nephew, Steven Bardsley and his family of Wall Twp, and his nieces, SueAnn Rubenstein and her family of Princeton, and Carolynn Itchmoney and her family of Millstone. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, March 29th from 11 to 12 noon at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Rt. 35 N., Hazlet. A celebration of Bruce's life will be held on Friday, March 29th at First Presbyterian Church at Shrewsbury at 1 PM. Interment, Shoreland Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Hazlet.
