Charles Dinkjian, Jr.

Charles Dinkjian, Jr., 67, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, July 11, 2013, after battling cancer. Born December 3, 1945 in Jersey City and raised in Belmar. He lived in Avon before moving to Wall Township. Charles attended Belmar Elementary school and graduated Manasquan High School, class of 1963. Upon graduating from high school, Charles enlisted in the U.S. Air Force
. He proudly served our country in the 6918th Security Communications Division over in Japan and Korea. Charles began his 33 year career in banking at the Belmar/Wall National Bank in 1968 and was subsequently named auditor and vice president before the bank was purchased by different financial institutions including: First Jersey National Bank, Nat West, Fleet, Summit Bank Corporation and Bank of America. Charles was named Vice President during his Fleet employment. Upon his retirement, Charles began his volunteer career with girl's high school basketball at Toms River South High School and then continued on to Colts Neck High School with involvement in the basketball and softball programs. Recently Charles was awarded the Monmouth County Service Man of the Year award due to his dedication to high school athletics.
Charles is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Lucy Dinkjian. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Marie Ryan Dinkjian; his daughters, Suzanne Freda of Neptune, Shannon McCurry of Wall, Jennifer and husband Paul Cremen of Howell, and Kerri and husband Kevin Cremen of Wall. Surviving are also his beautiful grandchildren, Amanda and Ashley Freda, John and Caleigh McCurry, Jack and Morgan Cremen and Patrick Joseph Cremen. Charles is survived by his sisters, Grace Napolitan of Wall and Joan and her husband Tom Coriell of Pennsylvania, formerly of Oakhurst.
Visitation will be at the Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan on Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 4 to 8pm. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 10am at St. Rose Church, Belmar. Burial will be at St. Catherine's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the
