Funeral services for Charles H. Rogers, 71, of Edison, NJ, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 5, 2013, at First Missionary Baptist Church, 110 W. Calhoun St., Thomasville, GA. Elder Herbert Herring, Pastor of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Pavo, GA, will officiate services with interment to follow at Peaceful Rest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mr. Rogers' family and friends. Mr. Rogers was born on April 10, 1942, in Thomasville to Rosetta Rogers and the late Nathaniel Rogers. He was a graduate of Magnolia High School Class of 1960. Mr. Rogers worked for the Ford Motor Co. until his retirement. On June 22, 1963, he would wed Ms. Christine Kerbo in Thomas County and their union would continue until the time of her passing. Mr. Rogers was a member of Sharon Baptist Church of New Brunswick, NJ, the International F & A Masonic Lodge in New Jersey.
He departed this life on Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Emory Hospital in Decatur, GA. Survivors to cherish his memory include his mother Rosetta Rogers of Thomasville; sons Charles Rogers, Jr. (Essie Parker) of Edison, NJ, Bryan Rogers, Sr. (Susan) of Holland, OH and Eric Rogers (Natale) of Conyers, GA; daughter LaKeisha Rogers Barnes (Bryon) of Lakewood, NJ; sister Trevera Jackson (Donald) of Woodbridge, VA; brothers William V. Rogers, Sr. (Elizabeth) of Woodstock, GA, Alfred Rogers (Myrtle) of Charlotte, NC and David Rogers (Deborah) of Memphis, TN; grandchildren Charles Rogers IV and Christopher Rogers both of Edison, NJ; Shaquira Jackson, Bryan Rogers, Jr., Neille Rogers and Isaiah Rogers all of Holland, OH; Evynn Rogers and Eric Rogers II both of Conyers, GA, and a host of special friends, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Public viewing will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013, from 12 Noon until 5 p.m. at Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home. There will be a Family Hour on Friday, May 10, 2013 from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. at Evergreen Baptist Church in Pavo, GA.
