Christine A. & Thomas M. Williams
Christine A. Williams, 68, passed away peacefully in her Smithville home, surrounded by loving family on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014. She was born in Newark, graduated from Irvington High School, and worked 15 years as an administrative secretary for the Central Regional School District. While in Lanoka Harbor, she served as a volunteer for the Lanoka Harbor Fire Company and enjoyed teaching ceramics. In her later years, she was involved in hosting parties and organizing social activities within her retirement community.
Christine's husband, Thomas M. Williams, 75, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014 also in his Smithville home with loving family by his side. He was born in Orange, graduated from Blaire Academy, and worked as the regional account Sales Manager for General Electric for 37 years. Before starting his career, Tom served in the United States Air Force Branch of the U.S. military. While in Lanoka Harbor, Tom served as a volunteer fire fighter
and enjoyed fishing and socializing with close friends.
Tom and Christine were married 48 loving years. Once retired, they spent much of their time enjoying family, friends, and taking cruises to various ports of interest.
Christine is survived by her brothers, Edward and Paul Sinkowitz. Tom and Christine were predeceased by their oldest son, Thomas M. Williams Jr. and are survived by their son. Kevin Williams (and wife Lynda), their daughter, Dawn Williams; daughter-in-law, Susan Williams and their 7 grandchildren, Drew, Ally, Justin, Jacelyn, Jake, Joey and Brooke.
There will be a visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 21 at Wimberg Funeral Home, 211 E.
