Clarence Joseph Sorensen, 94 of Woodbridge passed away Friday March 22nd in Perth Amboy. Clarence was born on July 7, 1918 in Perth Amboy, NJ the son of Hans Sorensen and Anna Kozusko.

He graduated from Perth Amboy High School in 1936. He was employed by the Western Union Telegraph Co. for 6 years then by Foster Wheeler Corp. in Carteret, NJ. From there he entered military service and was commissioned in the South Pacific Theater and Japan in WWII as a cryptographic technician with the Army Air Force Communication System and received the Bronze Star.

In 1950 he moved to Woodbridge, NJ where he lived most of his 94 years before passing on Friday March 22, 2013. He joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers L.U. 358 as a union electrician until his retirement in 1981 and was a member for 60 years. He was a skilled mechanic and craftsman.

He is predeceased by his wife Marie Sofield Sorensen, and survived by his eldest Glenn Sorensen; Wayne Sorensen and his wife Georgia Sorensen; his daughter MaryAnn Sorensen Allacci and her husband James Allacci; 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many loving relatives, neighbors, and friends

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11:00am from the Gerity and Chubenko Funeral Home 411 Amboy Ave. (Rt. 35), Woodbridge, followed by entombment will be at St. Gertrude Cemetery Good Shepherd Mausoleum.

Visitation will be Tuesday March 26th 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the Woodbridge Animal Shelter. To send online condolences please visit
