David Anthony Shuhala, 70, died on January 5, 2013 surrounded by those he loved. He was born in Newark, NJ on June 13, 1942 to his dear parents William and Mary Shuhala. David was a Maintenance Supervisor for Schering Plough in Kenilworth; served in the Marines as a Lance Corporal; was a yearly participate in the John Basilone Parade; a Communicant of St. Ann's Church in Raritan. He was a devoted husband, a loving father (who loved and spoiled his daughter Patti), a dear brother and brother-in-law, an avid reader, a history buff, and loved the N.Y. Giants and Jets. David was a kind, caring, generous person, and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Ann Maltese Shuhala of 50 years; a loving daughter, Patti Shuhala Lisciak and her husband, Michael; a dear brother, Bennet Shuhala of Union; a loving sister, Evalee Popolillo of Union. He was predeceased by his parents; and brother-in-law, Angelo Popolillo.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ 08869 (908-725-1887). Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 starting with a viewing from 8:30 to 9:00 am followed by a 9:00 am Religious Service conducted by Monsignor Corona of St. Ann's Church at the funeral home. Entombment in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Bridgewater, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Steeplechase Cancer Center, Rehill Avenue, Somerville, NJ 08876.
