AGE: 82 • Mesa, AZ

Dorothy "Dottie" Mix, 82 of Mesa Arizona, passed away peacefully in her home March 15, 2013 with her husband and son by her side. She was born on May 4, 1930 in Detroit, MI to Harold and Mary (Keenoy) Evans. She resided in Detroit with her Mother and brother Harold E. Evans until she married her husband Earl Mix on August 11, 1951. They moved to Piscataway, NJ where they happily raised their children Linda and Ronald. Dot and Earl ran their business Air King Service until Earl's retirement in 1990. After retirement they bought a motor home and travelled the country before settling in Mesa near their son as snow birds and returned to NJ every summer to be near their daughter.

Dottie is survived by her husband Earl, daughter Linda and husband John, and son Ron and daughter-in law-Karen. She was blessed with two granddaughters Kristy and Keli. She was triply blessed with three great grandsons, Joseph, 7 and twins Michael and Billy, 18 months.

Dottie loved to dance, read and travel. People who know her remember her twinkling eyes and welcoming smile and sense of humor. She was the best wife, mother and grandmother anyone could wish for. She will live in our hearts forever.

Memorial donations may be made to her great grandson Billy Biviano who is fighting a rare and inoperable brain tumor. Donations can be made at http://steps-together.com/billy/ or checks sent to Steps Together, 51 Woods Road, Hillsborough, NJ 08844 (memo Billy Biviano).
