AGE: 24 • Aberdeen, formerly of Toms River

Edward T. Gambarella passed away in his home on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. Eddie was born in Lakewood, New Jersey, grew up in Toms River and moved to Aberdeen in July 2013. Eddie attended St. Joseph Grade School and graduated Monsignor Donovan High School in 2008. Eddie earned varsity letters in Power Lifting and Football as a defensive lineman. In 2009 he attended the Ocean County Police Academy and graduated Class 26 in 2010. Eddie was a SLEO II Officer with the Mantoloking Police Department until July 2012. Eddie was currently employed as Head Supervisor for Hometown Security in Matawan. Eddie enjoyed his motorcycle, fishing with his Dad, the beach, taking cars apart and whipping up crazy recipes in the kitchen. He also loved his dog Theo. Eddie was our best boy. We will forever miss his smile, sense of humor and most of all his bear hugs.

Eddie was predeceased by his grandparents, Helen and Frank Gambarella, Sr. He is survived by his parents, Gina and Frank; his sister, Emily of Aberdeen; his grandparents, Ralph and Regina Ferucci of Toms River; his Godmother, Debbie Ferucci of Aberdeen and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-6pm at the Family Owned Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main St., Toms River. Funeral mass will be on Monday at 1pm at St. Josephs RC Church, Toms River. Cremation will be private. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Jim and the staff of Cop2Cop.
