Esther Nussdorf was born in New York City, and died Tuesday, July 15, 2014. She lived in Brooklyn until 1943 when she married Arthur Nussdorf who manufactured Army uniforms at that time. He later was owner of Century Sportswear in Long Branch until he passed away in 1980. They lived in Ocean Township and Deal and Esther moved to Long Branch in 1984.
When younger, Esther was active in the sisterhood of Temple Beth El and Deal Hadassah. She is a life member of Hadassah Rae Pascoe p Deborah, and charter member of the US Holocaust Memorial Museum. Esther has been a member of Temple Beth El since 1955 and has contributed to many other community organizations. Esther enjoy playing mah-jongg and bridge but the greatest pride and joy of her life were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Esther is survived by her sister, Minnie Schraga, Florida; her children, Eleanor Mirne, Stamford, Connecticut, Lawrence and Melanie Nussdorf, Washington, DC, Andrew and Rhonda Nussdorf, Silver Spring, Maryland; grandchildren, Scott Mirne, Las Vegas, Michael and Luda Mirne, Marlboro New Jersey, Jed and Sarah Nussdorf, New York City, Ben and Inna Nussdorf, Washington, DC, Adam Nussdorf, Los Angeles, California, Dan Nussdorf, Baltimore, and six great-grandchildren.
