Frank "Red" Kersey, 80, of Red Bank died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 peacefully at home with his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 25th in South Hill, VA. Frank was retired from Coastal Building Maintenance and worked at Regional High School and The Community YMCA for many years. He was well known and adored in his community.

Kersey is predeased by his parents, George and Viola Struell Kersey; two sisters, Pannie "Red" Kersey, Mandy Hayes, of Richmond Virginia and brother, Walter Kersey of Red Bank. He leaves behind his lovely wife of 27 years, Edna Kersey; son, Charles Smith; grandchildren, Shakira, Tanaya, and Charlie Johnson; great-grandchildren, Jakir Johnson, Jayla Wilson and Kimora Rice; three nieces, Phyllis Hayes, Gloria Jean Christian, and Annie "Denise" Kersey; one nephew, William Lee Kersey and a host of great-nieces, nephews and friends. Frank raised his grandson Charlie, in which they shared a wonderful bond.

A viewing will be held for Mr. Kersey from 10:00 A.M. until noon on Saturday, March 30, at Childs Funeral Home, 364 Shrewsbury Ave. Red Bank, NJ. The Home Going Celebration will immediately follow at noon.
