Fred Korten died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Roosevelt Care Center in Old Bridge. Born on June 9, 1931, Fred was raised in The Bronx, NY, by his parents Tillie and Morris. He attended Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan and graduated from Fordham University, where he studied to be a Pharmacist. Fred moved to East Brunswick 6 years ago, from Mahopac, NY, to be near the families of his son and niece, where he was a resident and beloved member of the community at Sunrise of East Brunswick. He had an extraordinary work ethic; was an incredibly caring husband, father, son and friend; and he was the proprietor of retail pharmacies in The Bronx and upper Westchester County, NY, making positive impacts in the community.

In addition to his parents, Fred was predeceased by his first wife, Dolores Korten; second wife, Catherine Korten, and siblings, Rhoda Weiss and Gilbert Korten. He is survived by his daughter, Ellen Greenberg and her husband Andrew of Cortlandt Manor, NY; niece, Rose Korten and her partner Brenda and son, Matthew Korten and his wife Marci, all of East Brunswick; son, Thomas Korten of Richmond, Virginia, and six beautiful grandsons.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 10:15 AM in Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, Cranbury Road at Evergreen Boulevard, East Brunswick, NJ Burial will follow in Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
