George H. Pigage
AGE: 69 • Jackson, Formerly of Long Branch
George H. Pigage, age 69 of Jackson, formerly of Long Branch, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 3, 2013. Born in Long Branch he was a 1962 Graduate of Long Branch High School. He received his BS in Engineering Mechanics at Penn State University
in 1967 and went on to receive his Masters in Engineering at Farleigh Dickinson in 1974. Collectively, George worked for RCA, GE and Lockheed Martin. He was a Launch Site Manager with 10 launch operations including 2 shuttle launches retiring as Integration and Test Manager in 2011.
George was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Long Branch since 1966 serving as Thurifer, Chalice Bearer, Vestry Member and Warden. He was an avid golfer, a Yankee fan, and a member of the Jersey Coast Radio Control Club.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Carolyn Rockhill Pigage; three daughters and sons in law, Joy and George Lindstrom of Eatontown, Jennifer and John Wolff of Aberdeen, Julie and Bill Dixon of Jackson; three grandchildren, Jessica and Megan Lindstrom and Amanda Wolff; and two sisters, Violet Gottuk and Madeline Ignazito. He was predeceased by his parents Henry and Katherine Pigage.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 4-8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third Ave.), Long Branch. Funeral Service Friday, 10:00 am at St. James Episcopal Church, 300 Broadway, Long Branch. Interment will follow at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport.
