George M. Barsa, 71, of Wall, passed away at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013. Mr. Barsa was born and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. After marrying his teenage sweetheart, Elaine Kasbar, they moved to Glen Rock, N.J., where they raised their family, until moving to Four Seasons at Wall in 2002. He enjoyed a wonderful 26-year career in print buying at Estee Lauder, New York, retiring as Executive Vice-President of Corporate Purchasing. One of the many highlights of his career was receiving the Partnership in Print Production Luminaire Award in 2005. He was a lifelong horseman, and an avid golfer. He was a member of the Upper Montclair Country Club and the Four Seasons Golf Club. George will be remembered as a kind and generous man, always ready to help someone, whether they were a family member, friend or total stranger. He had a great sense of humor, with a witty remark or joke for every occasion. But above all, he was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Barsa was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Louise (Mudarri) Barsa, as well as his sister, Odette Barsa. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Elaine, as well as by his sons and their spouses, Craig and Milly Barsa, of Coral Springs, FL, and Christopher and Peggy Barsa, of Westfield, N.J. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tanner, Kylie Jo, Jack, Sean and Mary Katherine Barsa; his brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Lorraine Barsa, of New York City, and his sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Tony Grimes, of Milford, Pa.
Visitation will take place at O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall, on Thursday, November 21, 2013, from 4-8 P.M. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catharine's Church, Spring Lake, on Friday, November 22, 2013, at 10:30 A.M. Cremation took place privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory may be made to Breast Cancer
