Herman P. Oostveen, 82, of Bayville died Thursday at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Mr. Oostveen was a self-employed mechanical contractor for many years and the former owner of HPC Company, Bayville. He was a parishioner of the Church of Saint Pius, Forked River and a member of Local Union # 274. Mr. Oostveen was born in Utrecht, Holland coming to the United States in 1958 residing in Fairlawn & Wyckoff New Jersey before moving to Bayville in 1991.

Surviving is his wife Louise ( nee Smithers); his brother and his wife Ton and Jeanine Oostveen of Belgium; his sister and her husband Nellie and Wim Rosenberg of Holland; his sister- inlaw Emma Frazer of Glen Rock, NJ; sister -inlaws and their husbands Barbara and Robert Hall of Emmerson and Anne and Roy Merz of Closter, NJ; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 at the Layton's Home For Funerals, Forked River, NJ. Relatives and friends may arrive at the funeral home Wednesday morning at 830 am. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 930 am at the Church of Saint Pius X, Forked River. Burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
