James "Jimmy" Eirich

AGE: 78 • Manasquan

James "Jimmy" Eirich, 78, of Manasquan, passed away at his home on October 2, 2013. Born and raised in Sea Girt to the late Laura and W. Franklin "Hap" Eirich, he was a lifelong Sea Girt resident before moving to Four Seasons at Wall. Jimmy attended Manasquan High School and was a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy of Wayne, PA. He then went on to graduate the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Eirich served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He then became the president of the Sea Coast Oil Company in Point Pleasant Beach. Jimmy was an avid sports fan who enjoyed all national, college, and local sports, especially Manasquan Football and spending quality time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Eirich, Jr. Surviving are his beloved wife of 48 years, Terry Gardiner Eirich; his loving daughters, Tracy Pence and husband Mark of Troutman, North Carolina and Tara McCarten and husband Bill of Spring Lake; his dear sister, Jean Mills of Hackettstown; and his three cherished grandchildren, Jessica Cox, Mark Pence Jr., and Lucas Pence.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013 at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7 at St. Martha's R.C. Church, 3800 Herbertsville Road, Point Pleasant. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
