James J. Sleavin

James J. Sleavin, 76, of Toms River, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Manhattan, NY, he was formerly of Howell before moving to Toms River 2 years ago. He was a school bus driver for various companies for 5 years and a bus driver for New York City for 10 years before retiring 18 years ago. He served his country in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict.

He was predeceased by his son, Anthony in 1984. Surviving is his wife of 33 years, Lucy; his children, James Sleavin, Queens, NY, and Kelly and her husband Jim Cicconi, Parlin; stepdaughter, Dora and her husband James Bowen, Toms River; his sister, Stella Sleavin, Old Bridge; his grandchildren, Dawn Ann Napoli, Frankie Napoli & Anthony James Cicconi; and his niece and nephew, Pamela Glynn & Robert Russo.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 7 at the Family Owned Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main St., Toms River. Funeral mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 8 at St. Justin R.C. Church, Toms River. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
