James Peter Slog

James Peter Slog, 52, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2013. Born in Leigh Highton, Pennsylvania to the late Peter and Catherine Slog, he grew up in Lansford, PA where he met his beloved wife Marcella. Mr. Slog served with the United States Coast Guard from 1977-1981 and went on to attend Penn State University
, graduating in 1985. James and Marcella then resided in Hershey, PA before moving to Brick, NJ 17 years ago. James was a mortgage officer in the financial industry for over 30 years. He was a communicant of St. Dominic's church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8160, Brick. Mr. Slog enjoyed golf, vacationing, and spending quality time with his friends and cherished family, especially his children.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 27 years, Marcella Polumbo Slog; his cherished children, Christopher Slog and Michelle Slog; his dear sister, Cathy McDonald and husband Danny, and many loving friends and extended relatives, who all will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2012 at O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 1 at St. Dominic R.C. Church, Brick. Interment will follow at Most Precious Blood Cemetery, Hazelton, PA.
