Jean DeAngelis (nee Sesee), 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Brunswick, she lived there many years and summered in Brant Beach, Long Beach Island. She moved to Mantoloking in 1970 and resided there until her passing. Mrs. DeAngelis graduated Douglass College, New Brunswick, Class of 1948. She was a buyer for Hahne & Company upon graduation, she was a substitute teacher in the New Brunswick School District and took many long term positions, especially with special education students. She was president of the Douglass Alumni Association, and was a devoted alumni, and spent many years volunteering on the committee as well as in the Archives. She was honored by the Douglass Society for her volunteerism, and was a frequent benefactor. Mrs. DeAngelis was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Bay Head, where she was a member of the choir for several years. She had such a love of life and laughter. She loved being around children, entertaining friends and family who she dearly loved, boating with her family, and cheering on Rutgers at Home Coming games. Known for her outgoing and cheerful nature, she was beloved by all whose lives were touched by her.
Jean was predeceased by her parents, Pierre and Ida Sesee, and by her brother, Robert Sesee and his wife, Barbara. She was also predeceased by her brother-in-law, Carl Connolly; her sister-in-law, Elizabeth and her husband Frank LePosa. Mrs. DeAngelis is survived by her devoted husband, Frank. They were married nearly 64 years. She is also survived by her loving children, her son, Frank DeAngelis III and his wife Martha, of Point Pleasant; her daughter, Dr. Beth Ruda and her husband Dr. Allan Ruda, of Holmdel. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Frank DeAngelis IV and his wife, Christina; Christopher DeAngelis, all of Point Pleasant; Danielle Ruda and Steven Ruda, of Holmdel, and her great grandson, Logan DeAngelis, of Point Pleasant.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 State Route 35 North in Hazlet, New Jersey 07730 on Saturday, March 22, 2014, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon with a service beginning at 11:30 AM.
