John Perri Sr., 84, of Marlboro Township, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014, at home. Born in Freehold, he moved to Marlboro Township 52 years ago. Mr. Perri was employed by the State of New Jersey as a Red Seal Engineer at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital, Marlboro Township.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. An avid gardener and talented craftsman, he enjoyed splitting wood and the New York Yankees.

He was predeceased by his wife, Audrey Haliniak Perri, in 2003. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, John Perri Jr. and his wife, Helena, Marlboro Township, and Michael Patrick and Susan Perri, Freehold; seven grandchildren, Shannon, Alissa, Cassidy, Anthony, Kristy, Bonnie and Amy; and five great-grandchildren, R.J., Carmine, Gabriella, Grace, Savannah and Alexander.

Relatives and friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St., Freehold. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 29 at the Marlboro Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum, Marlboro Township.
