Joseph G. Coghlan, age 83, of Toms River, NJ, Loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather died peacefully at home on Saturday, February 9, 2013 surrounded by his family. A native of Jersey City, he lived in Toms River since 1971. Joe was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army. He retired from the TOPPS Candy Company in 1994 after a long career in sales. Joe was an avid ballroom dancer. He taught dancing at the Toms River adult school for many years as well as at many local senior communities and on cruise ships. He was a member and past president of the Silverton Community Center. Joe also enjoyed cruising and bowling.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn; children Evelyn Coghlan of Westport, CT, Patricia Lally and her husband Rick of Manchester, Joseph M. Coghlan of Point Pleasant, and Mary Regan and her husband Tom of Toms River. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Meaghan Mazza and her husband Colin; Eric Draesel; Katie, Gillian and Daniel Weintraub; Jake and Jolie Regan, and also his two great grandchildren, Lucas and Reilly Mazza.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 2pm to 4 pm and 7pm to 9pm at The Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2013 10am at the funeral home. Entombment to follow to Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River, NJ. Condolences may be sent by visiting
