Joseph P. Henry, 73, of the Holiday City Berkeley section of Berkeley Twp., died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at his home. Born in Newark, Joseph lived in Lakewood before moving to Toms River in 1975. He attended St. Rose of Lima High School in Belmar, shortly after he attended Seminary School for one year. Joseph continued his education, attending Monmouth University and Seton Hall. He later went on to work as an investigator for claims and was a Claims Adjuster for Criterion Claims Service, Manalapan for many years. Joe enjoyed traveling, taking photos, especially on the many famous family car trips and spending time with his grandchildren.

Joseph is preceded in death by his brother, Rev. Thomas J. Henry. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, MaryAnn (Gleason) Henry; one daughter, Kathleen Griffin and her husband Daniel; two sons, Joseph T. Henry and his wife Susan and Thomas P. Henry and his wife Suzanne; one brother, John C. Henry; and five grandchildren, Stephen, Sean, Sarah, Brian and Jessica.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10 at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11 at St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society through St. Justin the Martyr R.C. Church, 975 Fischer Blvd., Toms River, NJ 08753.
