Kevin Kenneth Kelly, 59, of Brick, NJ, passed away on Friday at Ocean Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Jersey City, NJ, where he resided until relocating to Brick in 1993. He worked at the New Jersey International Bulk Mail Center since 1974. He became a Postal Police Officer in 1988. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #151. His vast knowledge of Civil War facts led to his giving speeches on the subject. His interests in the Civil War spanned decades. He was a longtime member of the Friends of Gettysburg. His other interest was genealogy and tracing his family tree. He was devoted and loving to his wife, mother, brothers, sister, and extended family members. He was a devout Catholic with strong family values.

Kevin is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn (nee Dylewski); his mother, Margaret Kelly; his brothers, Robert and his wife, Marilyn, Timothy, and Brian; his sister, Maureen Winstanley and her husband, John; and also 5 nephews and nieces.

Visiting for Kelly will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Road, Toms River. Mass of a Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at the Church of the Visitation. Please arrive at the funeral home at 10 AM. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
