Leo F. Scully, 90, of Keyport, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel. He was born in South Amboy on Oct. 8, 1923 where he was raised. In 1949, he settled in Keyport with his wife to raise a family. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. Leo was a lifelong member of the Keyport First Aid Squad and also an usher at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Keyport. Leo is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Margaret Kennedy Scully; his loving children and their spouses, Suzanne Fanning and Michael of Union Beach, Ellen Nixon and Gary of Union Beach, Patty Burke and Eddie of Keyport, Peggy Capodice and Nick of Bayonne, Barbara Clancy and John of Hazlet, Jeanne Johnson and Chris of North Carolina, Leo F. Scully Jr. and his companion Andrea of Brick, Bob Scully and Carol of Hazlet, Bill Scully and Theresa of Matawan; his cherished 19 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 and from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25 at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 State Highway 35 North, Hazlet. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Keyport. Interment will follow at Shoreland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hazlet. Memorial contributions in memory of Leo can be made in his name to the Keyport First Aid Squad, www.keyportfirstaid.org and would be appreciated.
