AGE: 80 • Matawan

Liana Evelia Antonelli, 80, of Matawan, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at home. She was born in Ohio and resided in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Matawan 31 years ago. She was a homemaker, who loved to cook and bake. She also loved gardening and sewing. She earned her Master's Degree in Music, playing the piano and organ and studied abroad in Italy. She was an accomplished concert classical pianist.During the early years in Brooklyn, she played the organ at the Regina Pacis Church and taught classes at the Regina Pacis School. After moving to Matawan, Liana became a parishioner of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Keyport. Liana was a special lady that whatever she touched turned to gold. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Liana was predeceased by her beloved husband, Pietro Antonelli, in 2006; and her parents, Pietro and Adelia Porreca Antonelli. She is survived by her loving children, Giovanni, Mariolina and Pietro Antonelli, all residing in Matawan; and two dear sisters, Nancy Sinicropi of Bloomingdale, OH and Rita Meo of Naples, Italy.

Family and friends are invited from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, and 9:15 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 at the funeral home, with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph R.C. Church, Keyport. Entombment will follow at Marlboro Memorial Park Mausoleum, Marlboro.
