AGE: 104 • Dumont

Louis J. Buonocore, 104, of Dumont, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Northvale on Nov. 14, 1908 to the late Vincent and Rosa (nee Cuomo), he was a Dumont resident since 1945. Louis served his country during WWII in the Army 2nd Division Engineers, and was a plumber by trade working for Local #14 for many years. A devout parishioner of St. Mary's R.C. Church, a member of the Dumont Senior Center, member of the Northvale Volunteer Fire Dept. Bells & Beaus Square Dance Group, and V.F.W. Post #761.

Louis is survived by his devoted children, Lois Pfeufer and her husband Al, Anne Schrader, Joseph Buonocore and his wife Patricia, and Vincent Buonocore and his wife Kim Sawicki. A great joy in Louis' life were his cherished grandchildren, Anne, Philip, Eric, Margaret, James, Louis, Beth, Katherine, Julianne, Lisa, Robert, John, David, Matthew, and Mishell, and his 19 great-grandchildren. Louis is predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret (nee Baranello) (1988).

The family will welcome friends Sunday and Monday, May 26 & 27, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Frech Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont. The Funeral Mass will be offered Tuesday, May 28, 2013, 10 a.m. at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Dumont. Entombment to follow at Garden of Memories, Washington Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Louis' memory to the Valley Hospital Hospice Program, the V.F.W. Post #761, Dumont, or .
