Luther Jackson Jr.

Luther Jackson Jr., of Fair Haven, passed away on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, one week before his 95th birthday. He was a patient at the King Manor Rehabilitation Facility in Neptune. Born and raised in Keyport, Luther and his family relocated to Fair Haven in 1945.
Luther was predeceased by his wife, Cassandra of 63 years; and his son, Ronald Pitman. Surviving are four daughters, Maxine Harris, Keyport, Siglinde Holmes, Baltimore, Md., Carolyn Williams, Cliffwood, and Lourette Jackson, Fair Haven, with whom Luther resided with. He also leaves to mourn one son-in-law, George Williams; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service is scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 at Pilgrim Baptist Church, Shrewsbury Ave., Red Bank, with the Rev. Terrance Porter presiding. Services are being handled by Cofer Memorial Home, 240 Shrewsbury Ave., Red Bank. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be sent to the Fair Haven First Aid Squad.
It was a good life.
