Margaret Mary Donoughe Hughes
AGE: 83 • Middletown
Margaret Mary Donoughe Hughes, 83, of Middletown, NJ, died on April 22, 2014 in Red Bank, NJ. She was born on January 18, 1931 in Newark, NJ and started her family in Laurel, MD before moving back to Middletown in 1971. It's been said that the only way Peg would be able to get away from her 2 sons would be to kick the bucket. That's what she decided to do, on her own terms and when she was ready. She would be the first to tell you she lived a good life. She was tough lady, who always had the biggest heart. Through all of her health issues over the last 17 years (2 transplants, brain and heart surgeries, along with a couple of other scraps) she fought a good fight and never quit, never lost her faith or her great sense of humor. She enjoyed life and, more importantly, all of her family. She will be missed by all who knew her. If you didn't know her, we're sorry to say you missed out! She was a kind and loving soul, who treated everyone with love and respect.
Surviving are her two sons and daughters-in-law, Rob and Joanne and Shawn and Loren; her son-in-law, Robert; her sisters, Kathleen and Maryann and her husband, Rich; her sisters-in-law, Irene and Winnie; her brother-in-law, Vinnie; all 8 of her grandchildren, Shawna, Nico, Cheyenne, Shane, RJ, Shawn Jr., Courtney, and Connor; and way too many nieces and nephews to list.
Margaret was called home to be with her family, especially her husband, Robert and her daughter, Kelly. She was also predeceased by her parents, Leo and Anna Mae Donoughe; her brothers, Leo and William; her sisters, Theresa, Patricia, and Bernadette; and her brothers-in-law, Vinnie and Joseph.
Please join us to celebrate her life. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 from 6-9 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 26 at 8:30 am at the funeral home. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 9:30 am at St. Catherine's Church, 110 Bray Ave., N. Middletown.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that you think about becoming an organ donor and give the gift of life that Peg was so lucky to recieve..
