Matthew Louis Pucci, 85, of Neptune, passed away on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013. He was born in the Bronx and lived in Neptune all of his life. Matthew served in the U.S. Navy for 8 years in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, as an air traffic controller, and on the USS Philippine Sea during the Korean War. After retiring from the Navy, he sold ice cream for Carnival Bar and continued working for Karson Food Service until retirement. Matthew loved to dance with all the ladies and was the life of the party. After retiring, he enjoyed spending time at his vacation home in Lake Pleasant, NY. Matthew was predeceased by his parents, Adeline and Louis Pucci, his three brothers and four sisters, and his wife Margo Nagy Pucci. He is survived by his son, Richard Lukacs Pucci and wife Gale of Neptune; his step-son, Gyula George Kalapacs and his wife Linda of Neptune; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and his brother, Leonard Pucci living in Florida. The visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 at the Ely Funeral Home, Neptune. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 at Holy Innocents Church, Neptune, followed by the interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Neptune.
