Minnie K. Frank, age 86 of Toms River, passed away Wednesday February 19, 2014. Born in Brooklyn, she moved to Freehold in 1946 and to Money Island in 1982. Minnie retired after 20 years from the Monmouth County Superintendent of Schools Office in 1986. She was an avid skier, scuba diver, and loved to travel, visiting many countries all over the world. She is a retired member of the Monmouth County School Business Association, charter member and one of the founders of Monmouth County Association of Children with Learning Disabilities, Chairperson of the first two symposiums in New Jersey for Laryngectomees, past secretary of Ocean County Nu-Voice Club, member of Eastern Star, Gloria Chapter 195, past treasurer of the Ocean County Shrine Ladies Club, member of Cancer Care Survivor Group, volunteer in the Ocean County Unit of the American Cancer Society, and was a volunteer at Community Medical Center. Most of all Minnie loved life.

She was predeceased in 2007 by Raymond her husband and best friend of 60 years, son Randal Joseph Frank in 1991 and brother Adam Kurman in 2001. Surviving are her son Raymond G. (Rick) Frank and his wife Laurie of Jackson, her granddaughters Lauren Drain and her husband Patrick stationed in Bahrain, and Lesley Tyler and her husband Jim of Maine. Also surviving are her two great grandchildren, Ronald Tyler and Madeleine Drain.

Visitation will be Friday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Carmona-Bolen Home For Funerals, 412 Main St. Toms River, NJ 08753. Burial will be Saturday 11AM at Maplewood Cemetery in Freehold. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children Philadelphia, 3551 North Broad St. Philadelphia, PA 19140-4131, Attn: Terry Diamond.
