Oscar "Larry" Corliss, 76, born Aug. 29, 1937, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013. Born in Pinewald, he lived in Waretown, until moving to Lacey. Oscar served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the Crossbridge Community Church in Forked River. He was also a lifetime member of the Waretown Fire Department for 60 years. Oscar worked for the NJ State Road Department until retiring. He also worked for Rex Gene and Crystal Lake Nursing Home.

He is predeceased by wife, Carolyn Corliss; father and mother, Leroy and Ruth Corliss; sister, Verna Marie Corliss; brother, Leroy Vernon Corliss Jr.; and niece, Heidi Cranmer. Oscar is survived by daughters, Jacqueline and son-in-law Robert Lahm, Deborah Corliss; son, Michael Corliss Sr.; daughter-in-law, Lorraine Pessolano and husband Tom; brothers, Bob and sister-in-law Cheryl Corliss, Bill and sister-in-law Chris Corliss; sisters, Emma Caufield, Claire and husband Charles Mundt. As well as many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Services will be held at Waretown Firehouse, Wells Mills Road, Waretown on Sunday, Oct. 13. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in tribute of Oscar Corliss to Autism Speaks, 1060 State Road, 2nd Floor, Princeton, NJ 08540. Arrangements are under the direction of Ocean County Cremation Service.
