AGE: 75 • North Plainfield

Paul Joseph Wentworth, age 75, died on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center Hospice Unit in Newark. He was born in Newark and had lived in Belleville before moving to North Plainfield in 1995. Mr. Wentworth graduated from East Side High School in Newark in 1955. He served in the US Navy from 1955 to 1961. He attended the Newark College of Engineering (NJIT). Prior to his retirement in 1998, he was an Industrial Engineer for Lucent Technologies for over 35 years. He was a Sargent for the Belleville Auxiliary Police and was active in the Boy Scouts. He loved fishing and was a Communicant of St. Joseph's Church in North Plainfield.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Virginia Fritsch Wentworth; his sons, Scott Wentworth of Belleville and Christopher Wentworth and his wife, Dawn of Denmark, Maine; his daughters, Melanie Wentworth of Charlottesville, VA and Jennifer DeChristopher and her husband, Michael of Rockaway. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Cassandra, Hope, Megan, Christopher, Holly and Olivia and his beloved dog, Lucky.

Funeral services will begin on Saturday, December 29th at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:00 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church in North Plainfield. Cremation is private. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
