Richard "Dick" Frank Grezner

Richard "Dick" Frank Grezner, 72, of Highlands, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at home. He was a Middletown North High School High School Guidance Counselor and Educator for 35 years, retiring in 1998. Mr. Grezner was the bowling coach there for 25 years and was the winningest coach in school history across all sports in addition to the winningest Varsity Bowling Coach in the Jersey Shore Conference. He is a member of the Middletown Lions Hall of Fame inducted in 2010. He was a member of Middletown Elks Club. He was a real estate agent for many years with Coldwell Banker, Middletown. He was a graduate of Woodbridge High School and received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Monmouth University. Dick was a longtime New York Jets and Mets fan. He loved golfing, fishing and especially spending time with his family and friends. Born in Perth Amboy, he lived in Hopelawn, Woodbridge Township and then settled in the shore area after college.

He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Margaret Grezner. Surviving are his daughter, Ann M. Bentrovato and her husband Giorgio of Boonton Township; his son, Richard G. Grezner and his wife Michelle of Neptune; and his three grandchildren, Giuseppe Richard, Gianna Philomena Bentrovato and Nolan Richard Grezner.

Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 at the Flock Funeral Home, 243 Broadway, Long Branch. A mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 141 Navesink Ave., Highlands. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lion Hall of Fame, c/o Ray Veth Middletown High School North Lions Hall of Fame, 8 Confield Court, Red Bank, NJ 07701.
