Salvatore A. Restivo, 92, of Cranbury died at his home on Saturday, April 20, 2013. Born in New York City, Salvatore lived in East Brunswick before moving to Cranbury.

Salvatore was a veteran of World War II where he was a radio mechanic for the 47th Fighter Squadron. He was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery in combat during the Battle of Iwo Jima, he was also awarded the American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with one bronze star, the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.

He is survived by his wife of over 33 years, Dolores, two sons, Charles and Stephen, from his marriage to the late Josephine Valenti, two step-children, Mary Rose and Ralph, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1pm on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 11am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers donations in Sal's name may be made to the .
