Thomas Calabrese, 89, of Troutman N.C., formerly of New Brunswick, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Newark, NJ to the late John and Concetta Ciccone Calabrese. Tom served our country honorably during WWII in the Panama arena. He was a member of The Independent Order of Odd Fellows for 34 years and a past Noble Grand. Tom was an active member of his beloved Odd Fellow Lodge where he was involved in helping others in need. He also loved collecting baseball cards and sports memorabilia.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Ruth; his son, Thomas J. (Marian) Calabrese of West Keansburg, NJ; his daughter, Elaine (Ken) Bossert of Mooresville, N.C.; sisters, Marie (George) Husjoke of South Plainfield, NJ and Angelina Conger of Lutz, FL; five grandchildren, Thomas E. (Gina), John and Michael Calabrese and Heather and Bobby Bossert; and two great grandchildren, Thomas and Gianna.
A memorial service celebrating Tom's life will be held on Saturday, December 8th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's, A Community Church in Milltown, the Rev. Richard Weyer officiating. St. Paul's address is 62 South Main Street, Milltown, NJ. The family will receive visitors at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to West UMC - Metro District, West United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 5478, Mooresville, NC 28117.
