Mrs. Veronica Corbet passed away Wednesday at Riverview Medical Center. Known to all her family and friends by her childhood nickname "Tootie,"

She was predeceased by her parents Michael and Catherine Morley. Mrs. Corbet was born in Jersey City in 1923 She was also predeceased by 8 of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sister Mrs. Eileen Golden of Leonardo.

Mrs. Corbet moved to Leonardo upon her marriage in 1948, and lived there for the rest of her life. Her Husband Neil passed away in 1988. Tootie is survived by her sons Gary and his wife Connie of Myrtle Beach, SC, Richard and his girlfriend Rosanne Egidio, Robert and wife Liz, and Doug and wife Holly all of Leonardo. Mrs. Corbet is also survived by 7 grandchildren; John Waltz Jr., Christina Hernandez, Sean Corbet, Brian Corbet, Taylor Corbet, Brooke Corbet, and Max Corbet, and 4 great grandchildren; Shawn Lecomte Jr., Carter and Brady Waltz, and Benjamin Corbet.

Mrs. Corbet was a proud WW11 veteran. She served as a corporal in the US Army Women's Auxiliary Corps. She also had a long association with the Community Fire Company. Mrs. Corbet was a past president and member for over 55 years of the ladies Auxiliary. She was the wife of a Middletown Twp fire chief, and the mother of 2 more. Her children and grandchildren also served a combined 12 terms as captains for the Community Fire Company.

Family and friends are invited to call at the John P. Condon Funeral Home from 2-6 on Sunday April 7,2013. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10:00 am followed by the burial at Fairview Cemetery in Middletown. In Lieu of flowers the family request that a donation be made in Tooties' name to the community Fire Company of Leonardo, 75 Appleton Ave., Leonardo, NJ 07737
