Victoria Popan, 90, of Hopelawn, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013 at her daughters home. Mrs. Popan was born in Parlin and had lived the last fifty eight years in Hopelawn.

She was employed as a sales clerk with J.C. Penny's in Menlo Park and Woodbridge Center for twenty years before retiring in 1987. She was a member of Good Shepherd Parish-Holy Spirit RC Church, Perth Amboy and the Holy Spirit Rosary Altar Society.

She was predeceased by her husband Louis G. Popan in 2002. She is survived by her son Kenneth Popan and his wife Mary Jane of Iselin, her daughter Christine Wance and her husband Stephen of Linden, two brothers Walter Grigo of Morristown, John Grigo Sr. of Metuchen, three sisters Amy Mamrak of Perth Amboy, Frances Linzey of Richmond, VA., Theresa Halek of Cape Coral, FL, two grandsons Matthew and Scott Popan and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday 9AM at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Followed by a 9:30AM mass in the Good Shepherd Parish-Holy Spirit Church, Perth Amboy. Interment will follow in the Holy Trinity Cemetry in Hopelawn. Visitation hours will be held Wednesday from 4-8PM.
