Vincent Cristantiello Obituary

Vincent Cristantiello

AGE: 79 • Somerset

Vincent Cristantiello, 79, died peacefully at home on March 16, 2013 with his daughter and his granddaughter Gina at his side. He was born on July 6, 1933 in Jersey City, New Jersey. Vinnie's family always said he was born with a deck of cards in his hands as no matter where he went he was involved in the local card games. He was a Korean War era veteran and loved to tell stories of his time in Europe. He worked for the American Can Company in Jersey City for 58 years. He was a member of the Princeton Elks Lodge. He thoroughly enjoyed his participation in the activities of Canal Walk where he resided the last two years of his life.

Survivors include his devoted daughter Francine and her husband Frank of Somerset, son Allan and her daughter in law Michelle of Nutley, NJ. He is also survived by two sisters, Marilyn Fuchs and her husband Rich of Newton, NJ and Mary Jo Rinaolo and her husband Bob of NY, NY. His six grandchildren were the apple of his eye, Michael, Julie, Gina, Danielle, Rachel, and Jacob and he hopes they'll never forget how much he loved them. He will be greatly missed by his canine companion Nutmeg. He was predeceased by his wife Josephine (Shizzano) of 50 years (2008), his mother (2011) and many cousins who he looks forward to seeing again.

Funeral services will begin on Friday March 22nd at 8:45am in the Hillsborough Funeral Home, 796 US Hwy 206, Hillsborough followed by a 9:30am Mass of Christian Burial in Mary mother of God church, Hillsborough. Entombment will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Bridgewater. Visiting will be Thursday from 5pm-9pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Mary Mother of God Building fund.

Fran,
I met you a few times. My son-in-law is Paul Rodgers and my ex wife Marilyn lives on your street. Your Dad was a very pleasant man and I enjoyed his company at the Canal Walk card tournaments.
My deepest condolences to you.
Sincerely
Jerry Goldberg
