William "Billy" Craparo, 32, of Middletown, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at his home. He was a steel worker employed by the Steelworkers Union Local 28, New York City. He was born in Red Bank and was a lifelong resident of Middletown. He was a mixed martial artist who won the Ring of Combat Competition in Atlantic City.
Surviving him are two children, Paige Ashley and Cole William Craparo; his father and his wife, James and Carol Craparo of Atlantic Highlands; his mother and her husband, Mary and Joe Austin of Hazlet; a sister, Lisa Lylo of Mims, Fla.; a brother, James Craparo J.r; a sister and her husband, Kathleen and David Quinlan of Aberdeen; a brother, John Craparo of Aberdeen; a sister, Jenna Neri of Philadelphia; a brother, Anthony Craparo of Atlantic Highlands; and many nieces and nephews
The family will receive their friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 5 at John P. Condon Funeral Home, 804 Highway 35, Leonardo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:15 a.m. Monday, July 6 at St. Ann's Church, 311 Carr Ave., Keansburg. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
