Arnold Mayers Obituary
AGE: 77 • Plainfield
Arnold Cecil Mayers, Sr., age 77, died on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at his home. Born and raised in Barbados, he then moved to Brooklyn before settling in Plainfield 35 years ago. Arnold was a Fork Lift Operator with Amerchol in Edison. A member of Grace Episcopal Church in Plainfield. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, gardening in his yard, being a handyman, sports and hanging with his friends at Jay & Al's auto service. Arnold loved being with his family and was a best friend and wonderful husband, he always had a smile for everyone.
Predeceased by his son Arnold C. Mayers, Jr. Surviving is his wife Emma "Sears" Mayers; children Cora Ann Greenwich, Andre Mayers, Anthony Mayers and Anaka Mayers; sisters Elizabeth and Rose; grandchildren Desiree, Terrell, Andre, Javaugn, Arnold, Armani, Tony, Rahsaan and Anthony, Jr.
Visitation will be on Saturday March 26, 2011 from 9-10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 10 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funeral, 209 W. 8th Street, Plainfield. Interment is at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. To send condolences go to www.higginsfuneralhome.com
