ROSETTA M. REED REMBERT
AGE: 70 PLAINFIELD
Rosetta M. Reed Rembert, 70, died Sun., Dec. 12, 2010. She was born in Jersey City, Nov. 19, 1940 and was raised in Scotch Plains where she lived most of her life. She is the daughter of Etta V. Reed and the late Benjamin J. Reed who died in 1966. She was predeceased by a brother Benjamin Reed, Jr., husband of Barbara Reed. She leaves behind one son Curtis Rembert and his devoted friend Julie Williams; 4 brothers Carl Reed (Carolyn) of Watchung, Dennis Reed (Yazmin) of Hayward, CA, Richard Reed of San Jose, CA and Marcellous Reed of Yorba Linda, CA; 23 nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
Rosetta was a 1962 graduate of Central State University in Wilberforce, OH; a graduate of the Real Estate Institute and a graduate of the Top Gun Academy. She worked at Theresa Grotta in West Orange, NJ as a nutritionist prior to becoming a real estate agent with ERA Reed Realty in Plainfield until her retirement in 2008. Rosetta excelled in real estate receiving the Bronze level Circle of Excellence Award numerous times. Her specialty was REO. She was an active member of the National Association of Realtors and a notary public. Her other memberships include the following: NARAB, board member of UCPC in Plainfield, National Association of Negro Business & Professional Women's Clubs, Inc. and Metropolitan Baptist Church in Scotch Plains where she served as the sitting president of the Missionary Board, was a former trustee and usher and former church treasurer. She led a fascinating life that included travels to Europe, Canada, California, Las Vegas and various vacation locations around the world.
Funeral service is Sat. at 9am in Metropolitan Baptist Church, 823 Jerusalem Rd. (corner of John St.) in Scotch Plains. Viewing Fri. 4-8pm in the church. The family will receive friends beginning at 6pm. Interment, Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Arrangements by Brown's Funeral Home, Plainfield. Condolences may be expressed at brownsfuneralhome.net.

Many years ago I worked at the Franklin State Bank in Scotch Plains and had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Rembert. She made a lasting impression on me and she had the most infectious smile! I had many conversations with Ms. Rembert. Ms. Rembert was such a beautiful person, inside and outside and I have spoken of her often to my children. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time!
