Joell Lanfrank Obituary
AGE: 44 • Seaside Park
Joell Lanfrank, 44, of Seaside Park, NJ, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017.
Born in Belleville, she was raised in Toms River and graduated from Toms River High School East in 1991. She went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Delaware in 1995.
Joell later lived in Vermont then Toms River before moving to Seaside Park 2 years ago.
She was a Certified Yoga Instructor and owner of Lotus Lounge Yoga Services.
Joell was a former Glass Blower and owner of Snow Angel Glass. She also was a former Glass Blower for Simon Pearce and Little River Hotglass Studio.
She was an avid lover of all animals.
Joell was loved by all who knew who and by those she just met. Her beautiful smile and personality would light up the room and she will be deeply missed by all.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Theresa and Joseph Cotugno, and her paternal grandparents Sue and Arthur Lanfrank.
Joell is survived by her parents Joann and Arthur Lanfrank of Lakewood, NJ, her aunts and uncles Judy and Dave Demilia of Hillsborough, NJ, Mike and Elaine Karsnack of New Providence, NJ, Gloria Battaglio of Manahawkin, NJ, Paul and Michele Babij of Belleville, NJ, Joseph Cotugno of Bloomfield, NJ, Anthony Cotungo of Newark, NJ, her many cousins and her companion Jeff Deron of Toms River.
The family will receive friends Friday 4-9pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 995 Fischer Blvd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday 9:30am at St. Justin RC Church, Toms River. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Joell may be made to the ASPCA.

My heart was heavy when I heard the news last Sunday. It just couldn't be true. Joell was the brightest light, making friends with whomever she came in contact with. Not only a wonderful yoga teacher but a person who reached out to everyone and made each feel special. She will be missed but not forgotten.

Dear Lanfrank family,
I am one of the two men that paddled out and rescued Joell from the water on that fateful day. We gave our best to save her just like she gave her best in life to everyone she met. I personally did not know Jo but we share many mutual friends. Getting to know her through others has shown me how truly special Joell was and how deep her soul is.
I wish this world could've had mercy on her as she was one of the brightest lights having influenced so many in a positive way. Joell was just too great for this world. I like to say its like she lived a thousand lives doing good in her time here. I am so truly sorry for her family, friends and anyone who knew her. My heart is so heavy too but I can feel her telling me its ok!

Joell was such a beautiful soul!! I met her at OCC where she taught my young son Yoga. I immediately clicked with her! She was just the type of incredible human that you always want to be around! She lived as a light on this plane and now she is shining brightly as she moves on. My deepest condolences to her loved ones , her dear friends and all whose lives she touched..

Although I never met Joell , I know she was an amazing person with a heart as big as the ocean she so loved. I was on the beach that tragic day, and felt so helpless. I prayed she would be all right, but God had other plans. I hope, in time, you can find comfort in your hearts knowing Joell touched so many lives! I am so sorry for the loss of Joell and want you to know that she will always be in my prayers . I am also a huge animal lover, and will be making a donation to the ASPCA in her name. I am heartbroken, I can not even image how you must feel. Take comfort in knowing that your daughter loved you both very much and spoke of you two often. Be proud of her life and her accomplishments because it takes a special person to be loved by ALL who knew her. What an amazing soul and person. I wish I could have known her longer. Her laugh and mere presents filled the room with life and smiles. Dear family and loved ones of Joell,
It is hard to put into words or conceive this could have happened.... I am so heartbroken. Joell was one of those people you meet and they instantly touch your life, and you wonder how you could have gone your whole life without knowing her till then.
I met Joell about 6 years ago at Kripalu. We had a shared love of yoga, pitbulls, the Beastie Boys and dirty words. We hit it off immediately, instant connection. She was one of those people whose light and love shone through her eyes and gorgeous smile. She made you feel special because she was special. She was phenomenal and majestic. Pure love and energy. She was a true yogi and beautiful human inside and out...!
In short, she rocked.
I cannot believe that such a light is gone. I know she touched hundreds or thousands of lives. There are hundreds or thousands of broken hearts right now.
Girlfriend, I will miss you like hell. I wish we could have hung out more. You were and are an inspiration in the way you were and lived your life.
I am so terribly sorry. Namaste, sweet sister. I will miss you forever.

God needed a special angel, so he took our beloved niece, Joell. She was one of the best, her smile could turn a rotten day into a sunny day, and her laughter would light up a room. I'm sorry to the Lanfrank family and everyone close to Joel, she was steadfast always in not unfriending me on Facebook no matter our different views, I loved that about her! Plus she was a riot and thought she was a better snowboarder than me. She probably was! I only knew her briefly from the surf shop, was always a pleasant surprise to see her show up at a gathering there, I will miss the back and forth button pushing we had on Facebook, while never being too serious.
