Edward J. Stevens, 87, of Silver Ridge Park East, Berkeley Twp., NJ, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016.
Born in Bronx, NY, he lived in Toms River before moving to Berkeley Twp. 19 years ago.
Edward was a graduate of Fordham Preparatory School in New York City and received a Bachelor's Degree from Fordham University.
He was a US Army Korean War Veteran.
Following his military service, Edward worked as a Salesman for Benjamin Moore in North Jersey. He would later become owner of One Stop Decorating Center in Union Beach, NJ for 13 years then was an Antique Dealer and owner of Antique Outlet in Toms River before retiring.
Edward was a parishioner of St. Joseph RC Church, Toms River.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Nancy (nee Brahn), four children Edward Stevens, Jr. of Bryn Mawr, PA, James Stevens of Atlantic Highland, NJ, Linda Olshan of Long Branch, NJ and Mark Stevens of Red Bank, NJ, two step children Diane Campbell of Toms River and Glenn Johnson of Whiting, NJ, and eleven grandchildren Trevor, Bryce, Samantha, Nicole, Robert, Cassidy, Kelly, Amy, A.J., Jenna and Kelsey.
The family will receive friends Sunday, November 13, 2016 3-7pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday, November 14, 2016 11:00am at St. Joseph RC Church, Toms River. Burial to follow at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.

Ed was a friend of my father, Jim O'Neill, from their growing-up days in the Bronx. He was in my parents' wedding party, came to my wedding, and came to my father's funeral in 1989 for which we were very grateful.

I was so sorry to hear that Uncle Edward died. Although it has been a long time since we have been in touch he has always been in my heart! He was a loving uncle to my family!
