DOMINICK F. "ACE" MANZO
AGE: 87 ABERDEEN
Dominick F. "Ace" Manzo, 87, of Aberdeen, entered into eternal rest Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Newark to the late Francesco and Chiara Manzo, he resided there before moving to Aberdeen 55 years ago. Dominick was a World War II veteran and served as a mechanic in the Marines. He enjoyed attending church services and was a member of St. Clement's Church. Dominick was the founder and business owner of Ace Construction Co. now named Ace Manzo Inc. and D. Manzo & Son, which was established over 60 years ago. In his spare time, he enjoyed operating his excavator and recycling machine, farming, gardening and driving his golf cart. He was most proud of his family, and he loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He loved to watch his son, Frank, drag race and was very proud of him.
He was predeceased by his parents; and three brothers, Michael, Patrick, and Joseph. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Carmella "Millie" Manzo of Aberdeen; his son and daughter-in-law, Frank Manzo and Michele; two daughters and sons-in-law, MaryAnn DeTerlizzi and Michael, and Deborah Falco and Anthony; two sisters, Ann Osipowitz and Rose Mancini; and three grandchildren, Maria Duchin, Kristina and Dominick Falco.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1 and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2 at the Waitt-Nelms Funeral Home, 501 Highway 79, Morganville. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3 in St. Clement Church, Matawan, with entombment to follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. I would like to take this time to thank each and every one of you for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. It has been a long and trying week, as Frank and I have spent every day with dad. We know in our hearts he is in a better place but we were not ready to let him go. Sadly, we lost our best friend! Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
