AGE: 78 • Manchester
Christopher Stefano 78 of Leisure Knoll, Manchester died Monday, August 8, at home. He was employed for 37 years as Airport Manager for the Port Authority of N.Y. and N.J. at LaGuardia Airport, Queens, NY before retiring in 1994. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-57, and in the Navy reserves until 1963. He was a parishioner of St John's Church, Lakehurst. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Council #10022, Leisure Knoll, Manchester. Born in Jersey City, he lived there, and in Hazlet before moving to Manchester 22 years ago. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joan (Noren) Stefano, a daughter and son in law, Debra and Anthony Zoppi of Manhattan Beach, CA, 2 sons and their wives, Christopher and Maryanne Stefano of Lincroft, Joseph and Nicole Stefano of Morganville, 2 sisters, Phyllis Rooney of Manchester and her twin, Florence Budnick of Brick, a sister in law, Patricia Stefano of Rochelle Park, 8 grandchildren, Jill, John, Eric, Ryan, Nicholas, Daniela, Sofia, and Julia, and a great-granddaughter, Chloe. Visitation is Thursday from 4-8 pm at the Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Friday at 10:00 am at St John's Church, Lakehurst with entombment to follow at St Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Diabetes Association, 1160 Route 22 East, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
