Kathleen Patricia Hertl, 90, of Manchester died Wednesday April 24, 2013 at home. Pat was married 70 years to her husband, Anthony, and together they raised 7 children. She loved learning. She worked as a Special Education Elementary Teacher for 15 years for NY City Board of Education before retiring in 1983. Pat earned her masters from Manhattan College, Bronx, NY in 1963. Born in Yonkers, NY she resided in Bronx, NY for 40 years before moving to Manchester 30 years ago. She was a lifelong active volunteer with both children and adults. She enjoyed ballroom dancing her whole life and shared her skills in the Leisure Village West dance community. She was a member of "The Original Calendar Girls Dance & Company", and co-founded Happy Feet dancing group. She is predeceased by her daughter, Patricia A Hertl in 2006. Surviving is her husband, Anthony, 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony & Rosemary of Ocean, NJ and Thomas & Lorraine of Bel Air, MD, 4 daughters and sons-in-laws, Kathleen Walsh & Donald of Colorado Springs, CO, Maureen Henry & Robert of San Ramon, CA, Regina Hertl & Thomas Livingston of Croton on Hudson, NY and Eileen Williams & Francis of Wappinger Falls, NY, 1 sister, Alice Calvey of Long Island, NY, and 22 grandchildren. Visitation is Sunday 1-5 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd. Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Monday 10 AM at St John's Church, Lakehurst with a private cremation to follow. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the Caretakers who helped both Pat and Tony during this past year, as well as the Hospice Team that assisted and supported us during her final days.
