Alfred R. Deutscher, "Freddy," 87, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 22nd at Bayshore Hospital in Holmdel. Freddy was born on March 21, 1925 in Bronx, NY, where he grew up. Freddy was a proud US Navy Veteran, serving during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Before retiring, Freddy worked as a carrier for the US Post Office in Manhattan, NY. He was a fun loving guy and always had a great sense of humor.
He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Bertha (Litka) Deutscher, along with his brothers, Robert and George Deutscher. Freddy is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 52 years, Jane (Daly) Deutscher, his loving children, Deborah Signorile and her husband Michael of Toms River, Patricia McGrath and her husband Mick of Hazlet, John Deutscher of Hazlet, Janette O'Donnell and her husband Jim of Toms River, his dear sister, Adeline Betancourt of Florida, along with his cherished grandchildren, Caitlin Dohrenwend, Eileen McGrath, Connor McGrath, Michael Dohrenwend, Emily O'Donnell, Jennifer McGrath, Matthew O'Donnell, and Forrest Deutscher. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, February 25th from 4 to 8 PM and Tuesday, February 26th from 11 to 11:45 AM, with a religious service beginning at 11:45 AM, at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 State Rt. 35 N, Hazlet. Interment will follow on Tuesday, February 26th at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown.
