Anthony Bove Obituary
Anthony Bove

AGE: 88 • Toms River

Anthony Bove, 88, of Toms River NJ passed away on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013. Born in Newark NJ on April 29, 1924, Anthony's growth through struggles helped to support his family by entering the work place at 13 years old. He met the love of his life, Regina and was married in 1946 before her passing in 2005. Anthony became a milkman for Northland Dairy's in the early 1950's and moved from Newark NJ to Livingston NJ, where he resided before moving to Toms River NJ in 2003. Anthony started Regina Maintenance in the late 1960's where he provided services throughout Livingston, West Essex and Morris County. Anthony was known for taking risks and following his heart and went against all business advisors by investing in a failing motel in Atlantic City months before the legalization of gambling. Anthony spent over 10 years in Atlantic City, where his biggest achievement was working with the community in providing meals during the holidays and offering jobs to individuals deemed unemployable. After retiring, Anthony and Regina became avid snow-mobilers and spent many long winter weekends in Upstate New York. He traveled through Italy, Alaska, Central America, Canada, Florida and California. After being diagnosed with cancer in August, Anthony provided emotional support to his Snug Harbor neighbors in Toms River, NJ before and after Hurricane Sandy. The storm would subsequently displace him. He was a proud man that was known for offering support to anyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. Anthony was a parishioner at St. Justin's Catholic Church in Toms River, NJ.

Anthony is survived by five children, Joy, Anthony, Ralph, Joseph and Dawn Marie; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Angie and Vera and a faithful companion, Lucy.

Visitations will be Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 2-6pm at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 East Mt Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, NJ 07039.
