Anthony S. Buzzanco, 85, of Barnegat and Marco Island, FL, died peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and children on Friday, June 14, 2013, at Seacrest Village Nursing Home, Little Egg Harbor. Born in Hoboken, he lived in Middletown before splitting his residences between Marco Island and Barnegat, NJ. Mr. Buzzanco served in the U.S. Army, and later in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He began his career at DeBari's Bakery in Hoboken, and later went to work as an Aircraft Mechanic for U.S. Airways. He was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Barnegat, and San Marco R.C. Church, Marco Island, and was a 3rd and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus in Marco Island. He was a member of the Marco Island Men's Club, and the Italian American Club of Barnegat.

He was predeceased by his son, Anthony S. Buzzanco Jr. and a brother, Thomas. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Theresa (D'Onofrio) Buzzanco; his sons, Dr. Joseph Buzzanco and his wife Maria of Middletown, and Edward Buzzanco and his wife Wendy of Atlantic Highlands; two daughters, Jo Ann Bieda and her husband Robert of Little Egg Harbor, and Mary Lynn Wells and her husband Colonel Michael Wells of Williamsburg, VA; a daughter-in-law, Pamela Buzzanco of Long Beach, CA; three sisters, Josephine DeBari, Lucy Nicotra, and Marie Conversano; 13 grandchildren, Bryan, Matthew, Jonathan, Jordan, Joseph, Brianna, Christina, Michael, Meredith, Anthony, Lauren, Evan, and Nicolas; and his dear longtime friends, Joan and the late Jack Caswell, with whom he and Theresa shared many good times, and a glass or two of wine.

Arrangements were by Maxwell Funeral Home, 160 Mathistown Road, Little Egg Harbor.
