Carlos Martinez, 85 of Merritt Island, FL died Sunday March 30, 2014 at his daughter's home in Hamilton Square, NJ. He was born in Puerto Rico and lived in Millstone, NJ before moving to Merritt Island FL in 1997.
He was a truck driver for Riephoff Sawmill in Clarksburg, NJ for many years. After retirement he volunteered for Habitat for Humanity in Florida. He loved to garden, ride motorcycles and was the Domino King of the family.
Surviving is his loving wife of 62 years Paula Rodriguez Martinez, his son Carlos Martinez, Jr. of San Jose CA, Two daughters Rose Bardachino and her husband Frank of Hamilton Square, NJ, Evelyn Stover and her husband Alvin of Cream Ridge, NJ, his sister Maria "Sylvana" Ortiz of Puerto Rico, his grandchildren Frank and his wife Lisa, Delaina, Danny and his wife Patti, Melissa R., Anthony M. and his wife Jenny and Katie. 3 Great Grandchildren; A.J., Alex and Emma.
Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Wednesday April 2, 2014 2-4pm & 7-9pm at The Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, DeBow Chapel, 150 West Veterans Hwy, Jackson, NJ. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday April 3, 2014 at 11:30am at St. Monica's RC Church, Jackson, NJ. Burial will follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity.
