Charles E. "Chuck" Anderson

AGE: 87 • Belmar

Charles E. "Chuck" Anderson passed away on Thursday 13 June with loving family by his side. He was born in Mount Holly NJ, raised in Charlottesville, Va and settled at the Jersey Shore during the 1940's. He was a pioneer in the retail television industry and made many friends with local residents installing antennas on roofs and making house calls to repair tvs. He came to establish Anderson TV in Avon NJ, a first television and appliance store in the area. He was the recipient of many recognitions from the RCA and Zenith Corporations. After "retiring", Chuck brought his entrepreneurial zest to the field of real estate full time, developing many properties in Belmar, Spring Lake, and Florida. Chuck was a proud U.S. Marine Corporal, who served as a radio operator within key Central Pacific events of WW II. He was recipient of many military honors including the Purple Heart. He loved Belmar and the Shark River. Some may remember him driving his Amphicar, a car/boat hybrid, off the ramp in the Marina and into the water! He also served the Lions Club and First Presbyterian Church in Belmar.

He is predeceased by his parents, Harry and Elsie Anderson, his son Charles Jr., and siblings Frank, Harry, and Doris. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Janice, his daughter Denise, his grandchildren, Elise, Christian, Roslyn, and Derrick, three great-grandchildren, and a brother, James.

A private service and interment will be held at the NJ Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown. O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall is in charge of arrangements. For more information or to send condolences please visit www.obrienfuneralhome.com
